How to Donate to the Wimmera Cancer Centre
Have you heard about Rachael’s Wish and the Wimmera Cancer Centre but don’t know how you can help?
Rachael’s Wish is the fundraising appeal to raise a minimum $1 million from the Wimmera community to help build the Wimmera Cancer Centre which will help more people to be treated locally, close to family, friends and support networks. The centre will also incorporate dialysis and community-based palliative care.
So far the community has raised just over $600,000 for the cause and Wimmera Cancer Centre Fundraising Sub-committee chair person Amelia Crafter said there are lots of ways people can help raise the remaining funds needed.
Mrs Crafter said individuals, community groups or businesses can donate directly to the cause or host their own fundraiser.
“We have received a lot of individual donations and donations from fundraising events which we are incredibly grateful for,” Mrs Crafter said.
“We still have quite a bit of money to raise so we are calling for people to think about hosting a fundraiser of their own. The Fundraising Sub-committee can assist by providing advice and support with marketing.
“The options for fundraising ideas are endless, from raffles to cake stalls, through to fun runs and rides and charity dinners. If you have an idea please contact us to discuss it.”
Mrs Crafter said people can call her or the main reception of Wimmera Health Care Group to find out how to donate.
“People can hand deliver donations or transfer donations online. We even have a coin donation well in the main foyer of the hospital now. Anyone with questions can call me on 5381 9309 or front reception on 5381 9209.”
