Wimmera Nursing Home is a residential aged care facility situated in Horsham, Victoria. The Home is ideally positioned on the same site as the Wimmera Health Care Group (Wimmera Base Hospital), and is close to the City Centre . Wimmera Nursing Home offers high care and low care ageing in place and has highly committed, professional staff providing excellent care to residents.
At Wimmera Nursing Home we recognize that the transition to an aged care facility can be a sensitive and difficult time for a new resident and their family. This is why the team at Wimmera Nursing Home focuses on resident wellbeing and encourages family and friends to play an active part in the residents’ life.

The facility accommodates two spacious communal dining rooms/lounge areas with large screen televisions and communal kitchen. This relaxed setting allows residents to utilise the kitchen facilities, along with assistance when required, to maintain their freedom and independence within a safe and comfortable environment.

The Nursing Home garden and courtyard surrounds are equipped with comfortable seating for pleasant outdoor recreation in a safe environment. The landscaped surrounds consist of manicured lawn areas, planted gardens, easy walking paths, raised garden/vegetable beds and barbecue facilities with all rooms offering views to the garden. The gardens are fully maintained by our on-site gardener. Our garden landscape provides a wonderful opportunity for residents to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends.
Within the grounds of the garden is a purpose built mobility walking area to aid residents in improving their mobility

Our nursing and care team are committed to providing an environment that is person-centred and one that supports the well-being of older people.. 24 hour care is available from our Registered Nursing staff and Personal Care Attendants, as well as immediate access to on-site Allied Health and Medical Professionals, including but not limited to:

All meals are prepared on-site by our professionally trained Chefs. This service allows us to meet the specific dietary requirements for each resident. Nutritional and hydration needs and preferences are discussed with each resident and/or their representative taking into account all religious and cultural dietary customs. Assessment of special dietary needs is completed in consultation with the resident/representative and the Dietician, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Doctor and nursing staff. Menus are frequently revised with resident input encouraged
